Roy Lichtenstein Boxed Notecards

One of Pop Art's most consistent personalities is the American painter, graphic artist and sculptor, Roy Fox Lichtenstein (1923-1997). His paintings, screenprints and collages, especially since 1965, feature imagery from the mass media such as comics, cartoons and advertising.

He created uniquely iconic images thanks to the combination of clear color contrasts and screen print dots, as well as a palate of primary colors used in four-color printing: red, yellow, blue, and black. He adopted stylized composition following classical rules. The basic theme of his artworks was the copy as a universal principle of a media-defined environment.
