Josef Albers was a German-born painter, teacher, writer and color theorist. He was a member of the Bauhaus group in the 1920's and a pioneer of 20th century modernism. He is known for his signature work, Homage to the Square, a collection of painting and prints exploring color relationships, geometry and dimension.
